HICKMAN AND TODD LAUNCH BMW-BACKED 8TEN RACING
A new team with familiar faces – 8TEN Racing is set to make its mark at the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races, led by Peter Hickman and Davey Todd with full support from BMW Motorrad Motorsport.
8TEN Racing has bold ambitions, confirming plans to compete in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, the North West 200, and the Isle of Man TT Races in 2025. Beyond racing, Hickman and Todd will also take on co-ownership roles, shaping the team’s future both on and off the track.
Peter Hickman, rider and co-owner, shared his excitement:
“The opportunity to co-own and run 8TEN Racing alongside Davey is something I’m really looking forward to. Having managed my own team in other classes, the experience I’ve gained over the years should help us be competitive from the start. We know the M 1000 RR inside out, so that familiarity will be a big advantage as we aim to continue our success on the roads.”
Hickman will once again be working alongside Crew Chief Darren Jones, who has played a key role in all of his previous TT victories and brings extensive expertise with the BMW M 1000 RR.
For Todd, this new venture follows a milestone year in 2024. He will continue working with Crew Chief Stewart Johnstone, the partnership that delivered his first Isle of Man TT victories.
“This is an exciting new chapter in my career,” said Todd. “Co-owning 8TEN Racing while continuing to race is a fresh challenge, but I’ve seen similar setups work in other championships like Supercross. I’m looking forward to being more involved behind the scenes while also building on the success I had with BMW last year.”
Scott Grimsdall, BMW Motorrad Head of Marketing & PR, added:
“Peter and Davey bring incredible enthusiasm to this project, and BMW Motorrad Motorsport will continue to support them as they chase further success on the roads. With the new M 1000 RR for 2025, there’s real optimism that 8TEN Racing can deliver strong results.”
8TEN Racing will make its official debut at the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races, competing in the RST Superbike TT, RL360 Superstock TT, PE Superstock TT, and the Milwaukee Senior TT Races.
